Description
This 5″ Debitage Jasper Dovetail is knapped from a new material from Mexico. There was a limited amount available and it apparently didn’t have a name. So I named it Debitage Jasper. Debitage is an archaeological and flintknapping term for waste flakes and this rock looks very much like a pile of waste flakes all mashed together. It’s actually a form of becciated jasper, but unlike most brecciated jasper, this material is remarkably homogeneous. It makes wild and crazy arrowheads, to say the least!
