Description
Cahokia Mounds in St. Clair, IL was the largest prehistoric city in North America, North of Mexico prior to Columbus’s arrival. Mystery still surrounds it but it’s most notable artifacts were small triangular shaped arrowheads. They were seldom over 1.5″ but this mega Cahokia is 3.25″ long, which I knapped from a scarce Purple Chalcedony from Indonesia. It made a fine commemorative point in honor of this industrious people, and a material I think they would have loved.
